The Details: 

 

We are in network with Aetna, United, Oxford, Cigna, and some Qualcare insurance plans provided by an employer*. Medicaid is not accepted. We bill the insurance  directly for both mom and baby. 

Horizon BCBS will reimburse for 2-3 visits however,

payment is often due at the time of service depending on the provider you see.  A superbill will be provided for you to submit to BCBS.

Due to an increase in patient volume, we are offering in-person consults in our Edison office at this time.  A home visit may be considered if medically necessary; please contact us directly.

Some families start with a virtual appointment and then come to the office when they can travel more easily.

*The same day cancellation fee is $50.00 with or without insurance.

 

We accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash or check.

 

In-person visits include history taking, oral evaluation of baby, breastfeeding parent exam, observed feed with pre- and post-weights, experimenting with different techniques and practicing ones that work best. Parents will receive a plan of care and a written report will be faxed to both pediatrician and OB-GYN.

Virtual consults People are often surprised that personal lactation consults can be done virtually! However, we have been conducting virtual consults long before Zoom and COVID19.  We use a HIPAA-secure telemedicine platform to protect your privacy and can even bill your insurance for the session.  While these consults don't take the place of a hands-on exam, you can get your questions answered from the comfort of your own home! Virtual consultations are 30 to 60 minutes.
